Statement on Ecumenism
Clergy Care Collective is an intentionally ecumenical organization and ministry. We are committed to fostering unity among Christians while honoring the rich diversity of traditions within the Body of Christ. We believe that ecumenism -- the pursuit of greater understanding, collaboration, and shared faith among Christian communities -- is both a sacred calling and a hopeful possibility.
We affirm that Jesus prayed for the unity of His followers, saying: "[T]hat all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you." (John 17:21, NIV®, used by permission). This call to oneness compels us to work toward reconciliation and mutual respect among Christian traditions, seeking to embody Christ's love in the world.
We recognize that the Christian Church has been marked by divisions over doctrine, practice, and authority throughout history. These divisions, though painful, remind us of the need for humility, listening, and repentance in our shared journey toward unity. We approach these challenges with the understanding that reconciliation is not the erasure of differences but a commitment to love one another in Christ.
