On January 23, 2025, what would have been the 76th birthday of the Executive Director's mother, the board, consisting of Matthew Gonzalez, David Lembeck, Job Pangilinan, and John Reese, met. They agreed to hire Matthew as an employee at a salary of $0 a year. They agreed to meet later to set future compensation.
Subsequent to January 23, 2025 the Executive Director had private conversations with all board members about matters material to the operation of Clergy Care Collective. Through July 4, 2025, the board has not received compensation.

Clergy Care Collective is a 501(c)(3) public charity founded in Illinois by its Executive Director, the Rev. Matthew González, J.D, and its board on December 26, 2024.
